WORLD famous actors have been in Haworth and on Ilkley Moor for the filming of a new comedy drama.
Movie stars Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette were in Haworth last weekend for the shooting of Missing You Already, which is due for release next year.
Sightings of the two stars were reported on Facebook and Twitter, with people claiming to have spotted them filming and dining at the Cow and Calf Hotel on the edge of Ilkley Moor.
A photograph of Miss Barrymore posted on Facebook shows her in Haworth standing next to a bus with Bradford as its destination. It was taken by Phil Hooker who said: " its not often you see an A lister on the Bradford bus!"
Photographer John Sargent snapped pictures of some of the actors taking part in film shoots in Haworth Main Street.
Main Street trader Nikki Carroll said: "It was brilliant, a really good atmosphere and it again puts Haworth on the map. We're absolutely delighted.
"We received a letter notifying us the filming was going to be happening. Originally they were going to be filming in the afternoon, but they altered it to the morning which is when the street is less busy.
"They filmed the actors driving up and down the street. There were quite a few takes."
Burley-in-Wharfedale resident, Elliott Spencer, and his mum, Suzanne, were on Ilkley Moor when they came across another part of the film shoot. He said: "We were just walking the dog on Ilkley Moor when we turned around and saw them filming on location. They didn’t let us go that close, but I was surprised how close we got."
The film's cast also includes Jacqueline Bisset, Dominic Cooper and Paddy Considine.
It is the story of two lifelong friends whose friendship is tested when one woman struggles to have a baby and the other finds out she has breast cancer.
The Yorkshire scenes are believed to be the women following the Bronte trail and local filming ended on Monday. (Oct 6) Drew Barrymore was a child star who had her breakthrough role aged seven in Steven Spielberg's smash hit ET. She has since starred in such films as Wedding Singer, Music and Lyrics and the Charlie's Angels series, which she also produced.
David Wilson, director of Bradford City of Film, said the filming of Missing You Already created spin-off benefits to local businesses, with the cast and crew staying at hotels, and farmers providing sheep and trailers for location shoots.
"I'm delighted that Hollywood has come to town," said Mr Wilson. "As a region, Yorkshire is really playing to its strengths as a centre for production.
"Government tax incentives and Screen Yorkshire’s content fund now have a global reach and this weekend alone we have had studios from Hollywood and Bollywood making movies in the district. It's becoming a common occurrence to see 'On Location' signs around Bradford."
