PUPILS from Wilsden Primary School raised £100 to help the flood-hit Brown Cow pub beside Ireland Bridge in Bingley.
Ten-year-old Lily Schofield was so worried by damage to the pub run by her aunt Jo Hogg, she asked school friends to join her in a sponsored walk in aid of Bingley’s Got Heart, a self-help project for businesses harmed by the Boxing Day floods.
Lily and fellow year-five pupils Ruth Nicholson, Olivia Ewart and Daisy Hyde marched round 15 laps of the park.
“It was a wonderful thing for them to do and – if their headteacher approves – we’d like to invite Lily’s whole class to the Brown Cow for a treat as soon as we’re back open,” Mrs Hogg said.
