GROUPS from Hebden Bridge and Halifax will perform in Haworth during the 1940s weekend.
Hebden Bridge Junior Band will play to raise money to replace equipment and sheet music lost during the devastating floods last Christmas.
Members of All Souls Amateurs will also take part in the benefit concert at Haworth West Lane Baptist Church on Saturday May 14.
The 7.30pm show is being organised by Michael Lofthouse, the long-time producer of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas at the church.
He said: “I gave the band the opportunity to come to Haworth and they wouldn’t be charged. The evening is solely to make money for them.
“I hope it’s going to be a nice light night of music, so people can help another group. There are no tickets and no charge on the door, but people can make donations.
Some members of the All Souls Amateurs, including Amy Ellison and Rolly Robertshaw, have previously performed in Michael’s G&S productions.
Haworth West Lane Baptist Amateurs normally perform a concert during the 1940s Weekend, but this year will instead present a variety show entitled Out Of The Box on Friday May 6 at 7.30pm and Saturday May 7 at 7.30pm and 2.15pm.
