Police are reporting tonight that a large sinkhole has appeared at Oakworth Road in Keighley.

The picture from the West Yorkshire Police twitter account shows officers cordoning off a stretch of the road while waiting for Bradford Council officers to arrive to assess the situation.

Bus company Transdev has stated services haven't been affected as yet.

Bradford Council had today placed a small diversion around the hole so traffic approaching Exley Head could avoid it.

The hole, about as big as a manhole cover, almost opposite Oakbank School, appears to have been caused when newly-laid tarmac gave way, opening up a trench beneath.
