PARAMEDICS have dealt with a medical emergency involving an elderly man in Keighley's North Street this afternoon. (March 29)
One ambulance and two response vehicles were called to this street, close to its junction with Spencer Street just before 1pm.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said officers had been informed that a passenger had suffered a suspected cardiac arrest on board a bus.
The vehicle involved - a Transdev Mainline bus heading to Burnley - was stopped on the north-bound side of the road for an hour earlier this afternoon.
A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 12.55pm to a patient who had collapsed while on a bus.
"He was a man in his 70s, and we sent an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and a team that offers specialist assistance for people who've had a cardiac arrest.
"The patient was taken to Airedale Hospital".
The ambulance and the bus - which had a "Not in Service" notice displayed on its front - left the scene of the incident shortly after 2pm.
