AN EIGHT-year-old Keighley girl has raised £270 for the Little Princess Trust by having her hair cut.
Natalie Taylor collected sponsorship from her family and classmates at Long Lee Primary School before going the Hair Avanti salon on Cavendish Street for the cutting.
Proud mum Shelley said: “Natalie’s only ever had her trimmed and never had a lot off, so it’s grown loads.
“She has been asking for shorter hair but me and her dad weren’t overly keen on the idea, so kept putting it off until she eventually wore us down.”
Shelley then saw postings on Facebook from several of her friends about their daughters having their hair chopped for the Little Princess Trust.
The charity provides wigs made from real hair for children who have lost their own through chemotherapy treatment for cancer.
Shelley said: “I broached the subject to Natalie and explained to her what her hair would do. She was totally up for the idea of helping poorly children.
“She was super excited the day she had the haircut, and was super impressed with the finished result.”
