Do you know of any Keighley ghosts that have never had any time in the limelight?
Or have you come across a local mystery yet to be revealed to the wider world?
Then local writer Malcolm Hanson wants to hear from you as he prepares his latest book.
He wants to focus on mysteries that have not been previously covered by local writers like Ian Dewhirst and Marie Campbell.
Malcolm is the author of Keighley’s Darkest Secrets and has led ghost and murder tours around the town.
He has also helped pupils of several Keighley schools prepare history walks round their own locality.
Malcolm was last year commissioned by the History Press to write a book entitled Mysterious Keighley.
The publishers expect him to write about 30,000 words and he exceeded his target just before Christmas. But on returning from holiday Malcolm realised he was not happy with his existing manuscript.
He said: “Just about everything that’s ever happened in the town has been covered by other writers.
“All I seem to be doing is a rehash of what they’ve written. I’m getting a bit stuck for fresh things.”
Malcolm wants Keighley News readers to tell him about mysterious objects or locations around the town.
He suggests stone heads on walls, long-forgotten milestones, figures from the past, or ghost stories told by relatives.
