Firefighters faced added risk when they tackled a car fire last night on North Dean Road in Braithwaite.
The vehicle was powered by liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and the fuel cylinder had to be cooled down quickly.
Crew commander Andrew Horsley, from Keighley Fire Station, said: "If the LPG cylinder is involved in the fire it heats up and becomes unstable.
"We have to put water on it. It's becoming more of a risk because there are more LPG vehicles around nowadays."
