A trio of scantily-clad men is taking the charity world by storm after raking in more than £4,000 in less than a year.
The Full Bronte – brothers Chris and Phil Elrick, and Richard Smith – took on their first topless waitering assignment at a charity event for Manorlands hospice at Oxenhope.
After the event, they decided to do more of the same and have helped more charities, including the British Heart Foundation, Children in Need and Breast Cancer Care.
Chris said: “All the events were a fantastic success, and up to now have helped raise more than £4,000 – all free of charge but great fun.
“About ten months ago, we were asked to attend a local charity event raising money for Manorlands. Being local lads and always up for a laugh, we said of course we’ll do it.
“Our most recent event was the Oxenhope Straw Race, which this year reached its biggest ever audience.
“During the past few weeks, we have launched The Full Bronte as a business simply because these events have kicked up rather a stir with the ladies, many of whom have asked us if we would host a party.”
Chris and Richard work together at Platinum Stairlifts in Keighley, while Phil works as a print finisher at Briggs Brothers in Cononley.
Richard added: “We are normal, down-to-earth guys with everyday nine-to-five jobs, who are now in a position to not only provide a service of fun but also continue to help local and worldwide charities.”
While Richard is single, Chris and Phil are both married, but Richard added: “Their wives are very supportive of them – they don’t mind. It is great fun.”
He said the first appearance was down to the landlady at the Golden Fleece in Oakworth, who asked them to appear as topless waiters to collect glasses and sell raffle tickets.
But the trio – all from in and around Haworth – soon became the stars of the show, and ended up serving drinks and having their photos taken, all the while filling their buckets with charity cash. And they will return there once again on the Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend with their collection buckets.
