SILSDEN F1 stock car racer Frankie Wainman Jnr Jnr won his first senior race at Birmingham on Saturday.
Frankie is currently the youngest driver in the adult formula, which he started after turning 16 in October.
The former multiple national champion in the junior ministox formula has competed in just 15 F1 meetings to date and is currently in 19th place in the points championship.
He said: "I wasn't expecting to reach the red roof grade as quick as this.
"It's early days and I've still got a lot to learn but I'm really enjoying the new challenges. It's a lot of hard work for me, dad and the team to prepare everything."
Frankie – whose family have enjoyed success in the sport for many years – will be competing this weekend at Northampton and Buxton.
