West Riding County Women's League Division Three: Dewsbury Rangers 4 Silsden Development 3
SILSDEN lost a rollercoaster encounter to a late Dewsbury winner.
They gave Rangers an early scare when midfielder Kourtnai Broughton's shot whizzed inches past the post.
Excellent play from midfielder Jordan Whiteley caused problems for the hosts as Silsden went close through Hollie Kirtley and Chloe Greenwood.
The Cobbydalers took a deserved lead in the 43rd minute when right winger Izzy Di Franco's well-delivered corner fell was tapped home by Greenwood.
However, their celebrations didn't last long as Rangers hit back with a superb shot to make it 1-1 at the break.
Broughton came close to restoring Silsden's lead when she beat several players before hitting the bar. And they made it 2-1 when Whiteley set up winger Izzy Di Franco, whose well-placed shot found the net.
Silsden had edged into the lead yet once again ,Rangers launched an all out attack with Silsden defending well things were looking good and solid at the back then suddenly a high ball across
But Rangers levelled again from the spot when Naomi Di Franco was judged to have handled in the box, much to the bewilderment of the Cobbydalers.
With Silsden shocked, Rangers saw their chance and pounced with a well-placed shot from just outside the 18-yard box creeping past the keeper.
Silsden pressed for the equaliser and it came in the 80th minute when match point winner Kirtley beat the keeper after a fantastic run.
It looked like the spoils would be shared but Rangers won it in the 86th minute after a clever through-ball led to a well-driven shot finding the net.
