IT’S sad that some people are so quick to whinge about aspects of the Haworth 1940s Weekend.

Andrea Leathley and fellow volunteers devoted months of their own time to organising the event.

Huge numbers of people attended, spending money in the village.

The organisers can’t be held responsible for the behaviour of a few people unable to manage their beer and as for a fairground ride not being on a 1940s theme, well, enough said.

It’s a new organising team and no doubt it has identified areas where changes could be made. It deserves our support.
