THE vehicle pictured, parked outside Keighley College on January 21 not causing any obstruction, was given a fixed penalty notice by an over zealous warden even though a clear message in the windscreen stated that the car was broken down and awaiting recovery.
He or she should be confined to litter picking, where no experience is required – just pick things up as you go along.
It is time the council gave thought and care to the people who pay their employees’ wages, before the revolution. Let us hope the money goes towards pothole and street lighting repairs rather than staff bonuses.
Our council leaders have lost the plot – bring back common sense.

* A Bradford Council spokesperson says: “Anti-social parking is an issue that’s frequently raised by our residents so we do all we can to crack down on it.
“Unfortunately, hand-written notes in windscreens can’t be accepted as evidence of a breakdown.
“We ask our parking wardens to issue parking tickets in line with agreed policy which allows for a short grace period.
“Once the ticket has been issued, drivers can appeal, and if there is clear evidence of a breakdown, we will exercise discretion.”
