WHILE out walking with a group recently I met a chap from Worcestershire, a county I know well. He was a contractor doing a job locally.
It was refreshing to hear him eulogise about my home town of Keighley. Despite some of the cheap and nasty frontages, he loved the Victorian buildings, especially the library. The beauty of Town Hall Square and Cliffe Castle were also picked out for praise.
I know, seems odd doesn't it? We quite rightly grumble about the shortcomings of our district but there are still some wonderful aspects to cherish.
We all know people make a community, let's all work together to preserve what we have and improve on it. If an off-cumden can see it then it must surely be worth the effort?
