KEIGHLEY Lions and their marvellous volunteers were delighted to help out with the Poppy Appeal at the weekend.
The Poppy Appeal is one of the most important fundraising efforts of the year. It gives a chance for our community to come together and honour our armed services.
Every year, the appeal raises millions of pounds for our armed forces community, especially for the many veterans who often severely struggle with returning to civilian life.
Therefore, it was a deep privilege to do our little bit and support this vital cause. In the hours we were there, so many came to us from across our town and showed nothing but the highest respect and generosity. This was particularly heart-warming considering the current economic climate and simply shows the deep love and affection our fantastic town holds for this great charity.
Keighley Lions are here to serve and all our members will be wearing poppies with pride to show our devotion to those who bravely serve our great nation.
Councillor Luke Maunsell, Keighley Lions Club
