I RECENTLY had a pleasant walk with a local group, until we reached the Nab Hill area. I was appalled and disgusted with the amount of fly-tipping despoiling our beautiful countryside.
You could furnish a house with the items abandoned.
Surely it is time for councils up and down the country to relax the trade waste and large items charging policy? The local councils ultimately end up using more of our tax to clear this up.
Even if the culprits are caught, the punishment does not fit the crime. A fine is no good; I would put them on a litter-picking detail for a few weeks.
