MOST people will now be aware of the proposed wind farm on Walshaw Moor, near to Top Withens, the Pennine Way, Haworth and Stanbury.
With 65 turbines, it would become England's largest onshore wind farm.
This is protected land, a habitat for wildlife and a peatland carbon store. The development would be a large-scale construction project requiring reinforced concrete and the building of service roads across the moor.
There is a public meeting with Mark Avery, conservationist and former chair of the RSPB, on September 5 at Haworth Old School Room.
Places are limited, so if interested book via Facebook – Worth Valley Against Walshaw Moor – or Eventbrite.
Do we really want 'wuthering wind turbines'?
Chris Lee, Haworth
