Two visitor attractions in Haworth will team up for the first time to celebrate Emily Bronte's birthday next Tuesday.
Emily's Birthday Excursion will bring together the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and the Bronte Parsonage Museum.
People will travel by steam train to Haworth while listening to talks by railway historian David Pearson and Bronte Society executive director Professor Ann Sumner.
After travelling by vintage bus up Main Street the party will tour the museum library to see treasures including Emily's manuscripts.
The day will also feature a guided tour in the meadow and garden, a gentle guided moorland walk, and picture opportunities with "Emily Bronte".
The Parsonage Birthday Garden Party, running from 6.30-9pm, will let visitors chat with Ann Sumner, tour the garden with head gardener Jenny Whitehead, and view Bronte acquisitions with collections manager Ann Dinsdale. Professor Sumner said: "This is our first-ever joint-venture with the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, we have never hosted a day like it.
"I am very much looking forward to steaming into Haworth with our excursioners for some exciting Bronte tours and talsk.
"We're hoping it will be the first of many annual celebrations of Emily's birthday."
Tickets for the excursion cost £20 and the garden party £15, from Julie Akhurst on 01535 640198 or at bronte.org.uk.
