Thrillers dominate the first half of Bingley Little Theatre’s upcoming season – but there are laughs to come.

The season begins with comedy on September 16-21, with Ivan Menchell’s poignant The Cemetery Club.

The play tells of three old Jewish women, who regularly meet in a graveyard to chat with each other as well as their late husbands.

Cat’s Cradle, a thriller by Leslie Sands, is set in an English village where a baby was kidnapped, and is performed on October 21-26.

Classic spy thriller The 39 Steps is presented on December 2-7 with the rip-roaring West End hit comedy version by Patrick Barlow.

Another classic thriller is Deathtrap, Ira Levin’s award-winning play, which is renowned for its twists and turns.

It starts the New Year line-up, running from January 13 to 18.

John Turley’s drama The Right Thing (February 24 to March 1) shows how soldiers returning after the Second World War had to cope with change in their Lancashire mill town.

Michael Wynne’s Canvas (April 7-12) is a modern, light comedy set in a campsite where family relationships are breaking down.

Harold Pinter’s classic drama The Birthday Party (May 19-24) sees the arrival of sinister strangers cause a nightmare for Stanley Webber’s birthday.

And Fawlty Towers, the famous 1970s BBC sitcom by John Cleese and Connie Booth, is brought to the stage on June 30 to July 5.
