This year’s South Pennines Walk and Ride Festival is taking its cue from the Tour de France.
Organisers have created two films that celebrate the area’s location as the start of the race next year.
Le Grand Depart and the Magic Tenner showcase the distinctive landscape of the South Pennines.
And some of the events for cyclists, walkers and horse riders will include parts of the Tour de France route.
The festival, which runs from September 7-22, includes dozens of walks and rides, including several on the outskirts of Keighley.
Salt and Pepper Please, on the first day, is a strenuous 17-mile walk, starting from Redcar Tarn in Keighley and heading towards Cowling. Families, individuals and groups can try electronic treasure hunting on the Geo Challenge, starting from the Bronte Parsonage Museum in Haworth (September 8).
There are circular walks around Oxenhope (September 8) and near Damems and Ingrow (September 14), as well as a walk following the Bronte Way from Thornton to Denholme Clough (September 14).
The Sky Ride event will take cyclists along the route of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway (September 15).
There is a poetry walk from Silsden (September 16), a trek along the Great Northern Trail (September 19) and a three-day hike along the Pennine Way, including Bronte Country (September 19-22).
