Carnaby Street is a new musical bringing a host of 1960s hit songs to Bradford Alhambra this autumn.

The show is named after the West End street that became famous for its iconic clubs, trendy fashions and eccentric characters.

Into this world, where everything is changing and anything seems possible, comes a working class boy from Liverpool. Jude arrives with nothing but his guitar and his dreams – but there’s both passion and heartbreak before he can find fame and fortune.

Singer/songwriter Jude has a chance encounter with man-about-down, Jack, and ends up joining the band Wild Thing to play the Marquee Club.

With Jack as their hopelessly-inexperienced manager, the guys try to make it big amongst bands like The Who, the Moody Blues and the Yardbirds.

Carnaby Street features more than 30 songs from the 60s, including Roll Over Beethoven, Twist And Shout, Keep On Running and Sweets For My Sweet.

Mustang Sally, Shout, I Like It and We Gotta Get Out Of This Place also feature in the show, running from October 29 to November 2.

The cast includes Aaron Sidwell, who played teenager Steven Beale in TV soap Eastenders, as well as appearing in films The Nephilim and Blood Army. Visit bradford-theatres.co.uk or call 01274 432000 for details.
