A new tribute show featuring the ‘kings of swing’ Sammy Davis Jnr, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra is heading for Huddersfield.
Rat Pack Live (right), performed on October 25, promises all the panache and attitude of the trio during their Vegas heyday.
Mark Halliday has performed as Dean Martin to critical acclaim, both in the West End and in international touring productions.
He also spent two years in the States creating the role of Hades in Disney’s new musical Hercules, and has toured in hit shows Girls Night Out and Aspects Of Love.
Show producer, Michael Taylor, said: “Mark carries off Dino’s stage presence to a tee.
“Spirit glass in one hand, microphone in the other, he captures Martin’s polished irreverence on beautifully-performed songs like Ain’t That A Kick In The Head, Mambo Italiano and That’s Amore.”
Richard Shelton gained rave reviews as Frank Sinatra in West End hit Rat Pack Confidential.
Jim Whitley, a former Manchester City footballer, has toured the UK extensively playing both Sammy Davis Jr and Nat King Cole, and previously performed at New York’s famous Rainbow Rooms.
Michael added his show, boasting the patter and razzamatazz of the Rat Pack’s infamous live stage show, would be the definition of cool.
Rat Pack Live is at Huddersfield Town Hall. Visit kirklees.gov.uk/townhalls or call 01484 223200 for further information.
