The bad girl of CBBC will play the all-American girl next door as the Rocky Horror Show returns to Bradford Alhambra.
Dani Harmer played Tracy Beaker on children’s television before going on to reach the finals of Strictly Come Dancing 2012.
She is playing Janet as the 40th anniversary production of the legendary musical extravaganza tours the UK.
Dani will perform opposite Ben Forster, winner of ITV talent show Superstar, who plays the equally squeaky clean Brad.
The pair of college kids find themselves in a pickle after their car breaks down and they encounter the flamboyant Frank ‘n’ Furter.
What follows is fun, frolics, frocks and frivolity in a rude show featuring songs such as Dammit Janet and The Time-Warp.
The Rocky Horror Show was first performed in 1973 at the Royal Court Theatre in London and became an immediate success.
It was transformed into a film the year after, the Rocky Horror Picture Show taking $135 million at the box office.
Richard O’Brien’s musical has since become world-famous, combining science fiction, horror, comedy and music.
The audience are encouraged to go along in their most outrageous fancy dress and join in with the show.
Ben Forster played the lead role in Jesus Christ Superstar on its national arena tour, after winning the TV series Superstar.
Playing Frank ‘n’ Furter will be West End actor Oliver Thornton, who has appeared in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables.
The Narrator will be played by Philip Franks, from TV series The Darling Buds of May and Heartbeat.
Over the years many stars, including Russell Crowe, Tim Curry, Jerry Springer and Meatloaf, have appeared in the Rocky Horror Show.
