Siobhan Dillon has been named as the leading lady in the musical Cabaret when it comes to Bradford Alhambra.

She will again take on the role of Sally Bowles, returning to the musical after playing the part during the UK tour in 2009.

Siobhan was a finalist on the BBC’s hit show How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, which chose a leading lady for The Sound of Music.

Following the programme, Siobhan won a record deal with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group, and co-wrote and recorded an album for Universal Music.

Last year she starred in the UK tour of Can’t Smile Without You, and recently she made her West End debut in Grease, both to rave reviews.

Siobhan will take to the stage at the Alhambra on September 23-28 alongside singer-songwriter and fellow TV talent show winner Will Young.

The former Pop Idol has already been nominated for an award for his portrayal of Emcee in Rufus Norris’s acclaimed production of Cabaret.

Will has the record for the fastest-selling debut single in British chart history, and has also forged a successful acting career in TV and film.

Since its Broadway premiere in 1966 and the movie version with Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey, Cabaret has won a large number of stage and screen awards, including eight Oscars, seven BAFTAs and 13 Tonys.

The current production promises show-stopping choreography and dazzling costumes, as well as some of the most iconic songs in musical theatre, such as Money Makes The World Go Round, Maybe This Time and, of course, Cabaret.

The production turns Weimar Berlin of 1931 into a sassy, sizzling haven of decadence, with the notorious Emcee and sassy Sally Bowles at its dark heart, the infamous Kit Kat Klub.

Cabaret is at Bradford Alhambra on September 23-28. Visit bradford-theatres.co.uk or call 01274 432000 for further information.
