Tony Cross played dustman Alfred P Doolittle five years ago in a production of musical My Fair Lady (seen above, left, with actors Mick Duckworth and Jonathan Rookes).
But this month he’s busy with one of his other theatrical roles, as a director with Bingley Little Theatre.
He’s helming the thriller Cat’s Cradle, which will be performed at Bingley Arts Centre from October 21 to 26.
The play follows Inspector Frost, who tries to resurrect his career by reopening an unsolved case. He encounters a conspiracy of silence and hostility when he visits the village where a disappearance occurred.
Future productions by Bingley Little Theatre include the modern comedy adaptation of thriller The 39 Steps, which was a West End hit, from December 2 to 7.
