Bradford Open 2013 art exhibition was launched last weekend and will run until January 19 next year.
The popular bi-annual exhibition, described as an ‘unrivalled’ showcase for the district’s artistic talent, is at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery.
Bradford Open, which is run by Bradford Council, celebrates the work of artists and craftspeople who live, work or study in the district.
It also gives visitors to the Bradford gallery an opportunity to support local creativity and snap up a bargain.
Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, the council’s executive member responsible for culture, said it was wonderful to see the variety of styles, media and subjects on display.
She added: “This annual exhibition is always incredibly popular, and shows the huge amount of talent in Bradford district.”
To support the exhibition, there is a Big Draw drop-in event on October 29 from noon to 3pm, where families can sketch their own future museum or gallery objects.
There will also be a practical workshop on December 5 from 10.30am to 2pm led by artist Andrea Ellis, where people can learn more about using acrylics.
Attendance costs £5 per person and booking is essential by calling (01274) 431212.
