An illustrious son of Great Horton is returning to the district to show why he’s regarded as one of the UK’s leading blues musicians.
John Verity, who has lived in Bedfordshire for the past few years, will headline at Keighley Blues Club on October 11.
John (above) is renowned not only for his guitar playing but for a powerful-edged legend voice with a huge, dynamic range.
He began his musical career in the early 1960s playing guitar with various bands around Bradford.
He supported Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Canned Heat before going on to join the band Argent. In later years, John played and sang in recording studios for the likes of Motorhead, Ringo Starr, BowWowWow and The Searchers.
