A touch of glass will be provided by Silsden artist Jo Whitehead during this weekend’s Making and Doing Festival!
She will show people how she makes her decorative glassware during the festival’s Meet The Maker event in Haworth.
Jo, who sells glass tableware and gifts under the name of Glassprimitif, will also show visitors how to make their own glass decorations.
Jo is one of ten artists demonstrating their skills in the Old School Rooms, off Main Street, from 11am to 4pm on Saturday.
The artists will show off their own creations, including wood carvings, embroidery, paintings and rag rugs, and encourage visitors to ‘have a go’.
Admission to Meet The Maker will be free, but there will be a small charge for some activities. The Making and Doing Festival features several events at locations across the South Pennines, including Hebden Bridge, Holmfirth, Saddleworth and Todmorden In Haworth on both Saturday and Sunday, from 10.30am to 4pm, will be upholstery and soft furnishing taster sessions at Damside Mill, Shuttle Fold, off Jacobs Lane.
The taster day costs £20 and pre-booking is essential by visiting the damsidemill.com website.
Coldspring Mill wool shop in Haworth Road, Cullingworth, will host a crochet workshop on Saturday and a knitting workshop on Sunday, both from 10am to 4.30pm. The event costs £5 in aid of Manorlands. Visit coldspringmill.co.uk for further information.
