What better than a top Keighley band to headline the Groovy Happening as it moves into the town centre?

Foxes Faux performs at the monthly event in its temporary home of the Exchange Arts Centre in Russell Street.

The Happening normally packs them in at the Parkside Social Club in Haworth, with a bevy of bands and solo performers.

Down at the Exchange, Foxes Faux will be joined by Harrogate band Dragonfly Tattoo, singer Isaac Taylor and Keighley’s own Cave Town Droogs.

Semi-acoustic outfit Dragonfly Tattoo last year opened Grassington Festival supporting 80s hitmakers The Beat.

They weave classical, pop, jazz, blues, folk and rock influences into a unique set that is said to enthrall and mesmerise.

They had been described as classy, atmospheric and lush, and as “Stevie Nicks lead astray by Patti Smith”.

Foxes Faux take a break from recording their full-length album, available in June, to play the Happening.

The band performs an acoustic set that provides melodic covers and fast-paced atmospheric vibes. The “extremely talented” combo have been compared with Mumford and Sons.

Cave Town Droogs take their name from Keighley’s nickname and promise an original take on the classic recipe of rock, blues and funk.

A spokesman said: “The Droogs give old man Rock ‘n’ Roll a rocket up the trouser leg.

“The Droogs present an edgy marriage between simplicity and complexity, between raw power and subtle musicality.”

Singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist Isaac, 17, is playing the Groovy Happening for the first time.

Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets £3 on the door, with proceeds going to Manorlands.
