From the Small Faces to Oasis -- that's the style of Brit pop and Mod themed Keighley covers band The Third Scene.

The outfit plays the New Variety Club, Russell Street, on January 26 and the Hudson Pub, Bradford, on February 26.

They aim to have fun entertaining and playing good quality versions of classic songs, like What's the Story, Town Called Malice, Lucky Man and Substitute.

The band began after Keighley man Chris Farrugia met Graham Sully, items which are now living in Berkeley, just over a year ago.

"We had a similar view on what would work as a decent club covers band and wanted to play the same kind of music," said Chris.

"Along the way we picked up some really sound and talented musicians."

Mathew Barbour, a young man from Dewsbury just out of university, joined about nine months ago..

Chris said: "Matt s rock solid and a talented musician on keyboards and bass guitar, and although younger than the majority of the band gets the vibe of what we want to achieve."

Chris said Matt instantly hooked up with Grassington man and experienced musician Big Bad Bill Mallinson to create a great rhythm section.

The line-up was completed by John Driver, from Keighley, who has performed in clubs and pubs for the past 10 years as a solo artist.

Chris said: "The aim of The Third Scene is to build ourselves a good reputation in the Leeds/Bradford area.

"We'll put on good shows, playing great songs and giving everyone who comes a good night.

"We want people to enjoy our versions of classic songs, and have fun entertaining and playing good quality live music."

Typical songs from the set include What's the Story by Oasis, A Town Called Malice by the Jam, Lucky Man by The Verve, and Substitute by The Who.
