The man behind a new £5m film about the Brontes hopes talks with local companies will produce extra investment to ensure filming can take place in Yorkshire.
Following a shortfall caused by the withdrawal of a previous investor, he needs to raise around £350,000 within the next few weeks, otherwise it is likely "Bronte" the film will be made elsewhere - possibly in Wales or Canada.
Sheffield-based movie-maker, Nick Wild, managing director of production company Film Squared, is seeking local investors and sponsors so that at least part of the film can be made on location in Haworth.
He said investing in the film would offer tax breaks to companies as well as opportunities for positive brand association.
Said Mr Wild said: "There are many blue chip companies and organisations around Bradford and West Yorkshire and I am hoping to interest them in supporting the film.
"It would be a crime if something as quintessentially Yorkshire as this story could not at least be partly filmed in the area."
"Bronte" will be directed by Emmy and Bafta awarding winning Charles Sturridge, who also produced Brideshead Revisited and will feature stars including John Hurt, Joan Plowright and Kristen Scott-Thomas.
