The grandson of a talented painter is searching for family members of other 20th-century Aire Valley artists.

After Dave Foster, above, stumbled across the works of his grandfather in the attic of his family home in Bingley, he began to investigate similar artists from the area.

Eventually he came across the Aireville Group, a body of artists who painted scenes in watercolour and oil.

Mr Foster is already in the process of producing a film, book and photographic record about the Aireville Group, that thrived between 1880 and 1950, but is now interested in meeting the family and viewing the works of other artists of the same time period.

He said: "It would be nice if people who knew artists from that era could bring their works and I could meet them."

A talk will be held on Saturday, March 15, at West Lane Baptist Church in Haworth, starting at 8pm.

Mr Foster asks for anyone who is attending with their relatives' paintings to contact him on 0113 2742106.
