Keighley writer Sophie Hannah has published her third crime novel.

Point of Rescue has already been favourably reviewed in the national press.

The psychological suspense thriller is very different to much of Sophie's other work.

Sophie, who lives in Utley, also writes humourous poems and children's books.

Point of Rescue concerns a woman who has an affair with a married man during a secret holiday from her own husband.

A year later she sees on TV that the man's wife and daughter are dead -- but the man on the screen is not her lover.

The hardback novel follows Sally's attempts to keep her affair secret while helping the police solve the mystery.

Sophie's previous thrillers Little Face and Hurting Distance were praised for their psychological insight and original plots.

She says she tries to examine real evil, writing "psychologically gruesome" stories without graphic violence.

Manchester-born Sophie, who has two small children, published her first book of poetry in the mid-1990s.
