Keighley people are being invited to interact with the latest exhibition at the town's Arts Factory.

Interaction has brought 85 works by 40 Yorkshire artists to the town centre gallery.

The artworks were chosen from submissions by more than 50 professional and amateur artists.

The contemporary art gallery, part of Park Lane College Keighley, hosts an open exhibition every year.

This year there are paintings, prints, sculptures, ceramics, glass and photographs.

Jo Whitehead, the gallery's administrator, said the theme of "interaction" was interpreted in many ways.

She said: "It was a very wide-ranging brief, a lot easier than last year's Transitions."

She said the artwork could depict interaction, or the works could interact with the artist, the medium or each other.

Jo said many artists had returned after exhibiting last year, while new artists had come from particularly Shipley and Bradford.

She said: "Visitors will see a range of art by Yorkshire artists. There's such a wide variety -- their must be something for everyone.

"There's nothing particularly challenging, but it's a lot more colourful than last year."

Interaction runs until March 19 at the gallery in Park Lane College Keighley's North Street building.

Open Mondays to Fridays (10am-noon) and Mondays to Thursdays (1-4pm). Phone 01535 618554.
