Dave Spikey, double British Comedy Award winner and cowriter and star of Phoenix Nights, is bringing his new live show to Halifax's Victoria Theatre as part of his nationwide tour.

WorkingintheNHSasabiomedical scientist, Dave discovered for himself that scientific evidence endorsed his dad's favourite saying that "Laughter is the Best Medicine", which is what he has named this tour. He sees his new show is a small contribution to improving the health of the nation.

Spikey will share with his audience tales of stunned guinea pigs, sexual awakenings, cannibals and laxative chocolate in the hope that they leave the theatre in much better health.

Since his last tour, Dave has appeared on Parkinson and performed alongside a star-studded line-up in the Royal Variety Performance. He has also appeared as team captain alongside Jimmy Carr and Sean Lock in four hit series of Channel 4's 8 Outof 10Cats.

Tickets for the show on April 12 at £17.50 (discounts available) for the 8pm show are on sale now from the box office on (01422) 35115, or online at victoriatheatre.co.uk
