Chris Cowling played one of lead characters in last year's musical Summer Holiday with Sutton Amateurs.
For this year's show Back to the 80s the young man is down in the nearby orchestra pit playing a lead of a different sort.
He'll be playing lead guitar alongside last year's musicians Ian Sanderson, Ian Spencer and Derek Arnold.
Musical director David Boddy has again recruited musicians have played on the local band scene for many years.
Chris, who currently plays with local group Me and My Mates, is the son of Alan and Barbara Cowling performed locally as comedy duo Babs and Spider.
Back to the 80s, staged next Wednesday to Saturday, is an American high school comedy featuring 24 pop songs from the 1980s.
