Indie funk electro band Reverend and The Makers will be performing a charity concert at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, this Sunday.
The Tea Leaf Trust is a small charity established by the previous tour bus driver for the band, and all profits go directly towards setting up a community English and IT school in Sri Lanka.
Reverend and The Makers' music is described as a mix of indie guitar pop, electronica and funk "with lyrics that communicate a down-to-earth and cynical outlook on modern life, all captured in cutting and intelligent verses".
In 2006 they supported Arctic Monkeys on their sell-out UK tour. Last May they took to the road on their own first UK tour, with sell-out dates in London and Sheffield, their home city.
They played a sell-out show at Bradford University last month.
* Tickets for the concert on Sunday are £12 plus a £1.50 booking fee per ticket, available from the theatre box office on (01422) 351158 Monday to Saturday between 10am and 6pm. Tickets are also available from See Tickets at www.seetickets.com
