Dame Beryl Bainbridge and poet Simon Armitage are among the guests at the Bronte Parsonage's Contemporary Arts Programme in April.

Dame Beryl, novelist and journalist Justine Picardie and Daphne Du Maurier's daughter, Lady Tessa Montgomery, will be discussing the famous literary sisters alongside the works of Daphne Du Maurier.

Visitors will have the chance to view the Branwell Bronte manuscripts once owned by Daphne Du Maurier.

The event features the results of her collaboration with poet Ted Hughes, and author Beryl Bainbridge will be at Haworth to discuss her writing as part of the Bronte Society festival weekend.

Simon Armitage will visit the Baptist Centre and will read from his poems.

The programme runs from April. Call (01535) 640188.
