HEADSTONE will be experimenting with progressive rock in a clutch of local gigs.
The Keighley quartet will showcase at least three new songs at gigs including Keighley's Victoria Hotel on May 24.
The band has changed direction since founder Nige Mason disbanded then reformed with new members.
The line-up is singer-guitarist Nige, Brand New Analogues member JT on bass, Emma on keyboards, and ex-Bloodstream drummer Steve Ward.
Nige said: "The name Headstone implies a dark moody style and that's what we tried to recreate.
"This new line-up gives the band more of an edge and allows me to experiment with my favourite kind of music.
"JT with his technical and musical knowledge, Emma with a grinding 70s-style organ sound, and Steve with his frenzied rhythm approach.
"They've really made me raise my game mentally and musically."
Headstone play Bradford's Exchange Bar this Saturday with the Screaming Priests and Keighley rock and metal band Citusk.
Headstone return to Bradford, to the New Beehive with Mantra (May 9), and Mannville Arms with Electric Mud Generator (May 17).
