When I first saw this Xbox 360 game I thought it would be a role-playing game with slow fighting and too little action.
But it's not, it's effectively Star Wars Battlefront but with Lord of the Rings storyline and characters instead.
You play through the major battles of the three films as archers, warriors and mages, or as heroes from the films such as Aragon, Legolas and Gandalf.
The fighting style is much better than the Star Wars counterpart, more up-close and varied with a wider range of weapons.
When you finish the storyline of the films, you unlock the Rise of Sauron campaign when you play at the enemy taking control of Middle Earth.
The controls are simple, the graphics are top-notch and the gameplay is excellent.
