Zombies will rise at the Cricketers Arms in Keighley this Saturday!
The Coney Lane pub plays host to Voodoo Van Boogie, a rock, blues and RnB trio from South Yorkshire and Derbyshire..
They cover acts such as Cream, John Mayall, Gary Moore, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and The Doors.
Dr Zoo, an Afro-Celtic rock singer/songwriter from Canada who has a doctorate in zoology, performs on Tuesday.
The doc has travelled extensively in Africa, recorded his debut CD in Johannesburg and has performed across the world.
The Dr Zoo band includes Copsy Mwansa from the Congo (guitars), Daniel Sifundza from Mozambiqe (bass), Jonathan Bunce from the UK (fiddle) and David Mambo from Zimbabwe (drums).
“My main influences are Paul Simon’s Graceland, Johnny Clegg and Bob Marley, ” says Randal.
“I enjoy collaborating with African musicians and sharing my love of the continent through music”.
“While touring I also strive to highlight issues of HIV/AIDS and child-headed households, as well as promote the beauty of Africa."
