Artists can learn how to paint Mughal miniatures in a short course at a Keighley art gallery.

The Arts Factory is hosting three sessions on March 4 and 11 with specialist artist Farrah Mahmood Rana.

Students will produce a delicate miniature of their own and exhibit it at the North Street gallery.

Gallery curator Jo Whitehead said the workshops offered an exciting opportunity for artists to explore intricate painting techniques.

She said Farrah was a renowned miniature artist and currently assistant professor at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology in Islamabad.

She said: "Farrah lectures widely on miniature painting of the Mughal, Persian, Rajhistani, Pahari, Daccan and Kangra schools."

At the first workshop artists will prepare Wasli paper for their painting, and in the second will use new skills and techniques.

The workshops are free to any artist who lives or works in Yorkshire. They run from 10am-3pm at the Arts Factory in Park Lane College Keighley.
