Bolt is Disney's biggest film for ages but the same level of care hasn't been lavished on this spin-off game for the Nintendo DS.

It does look quite good but more thought and time should have been spent on the gameplay.

Bolt is a dog who has special powers in his TV show but in the real world is a normal Alsatian puppy.

The game, however, is set solely in the super-powered TV world -- with entirely new adventures -- allowing much more scope for fun.

It is fun for a while, particularly for under-tens, with a simple learning curve, well-designed puzzles and lots of action.

But after a few levels the game grows repetitive and unchallenging, the baddies too similar and the powers too few.
