A Keighley town centre pub that recently changed hands has decided to focus on live music.

The Albert will host performances by at least two bands each week as well as other music events.

The Albert, on Bridge Street, reopened last November following a refurbishment.

Although it is owned by Keighley brewer Timothy Taylor, it has been leased to Ossett Brewery.

The first bands play this weekend, the Welsh T Blues Band on Friday and the Dan Hudson Band, also playing blues on Saturday.

Nigel Morris, organiser of the gigs, said Dan was one of the most exciting blues talents in Yorkshire.

He said: "Keep Music Live has compared Dan to the next Aynsley Lister and the talent he holds as 19 year old is there for anyone to see.

"He started playing guitar at the age of sven and keyboards around the same time.

"He is going to be one of the main performers at the Leeds/West Yorkshire Blues Trail this year through popular demand.

"Dan's guitar style and his voice are mature beyond his years and he has a demure air about his performance which will have the most seasoned music lover purring."
