Folk music king Martin Carthy is to perform at Baccapipes Folk Club on April 3.

The singer and guitarist has long been one of the most influential figures in British traditional music.

He started his career in the early days of the folk revival in the 1960s and has performed with spa Steeleye space that s pan and Albion Country Band.

The multi-award winner has been part of the Watersons folk ensemble since 1972 and regularly works with fiddle legend Dave Swarbrick.

Tickets are available only from the Baccapipes, which meets on Fridays at 8.30pm at Keighley Ukrainian Club at 9 Henry Street.

This Friday the club hosts trio Zoox with its mix of string, wind and percussion instruments and voices.

Linda Game, Jo May and Becky Menday will present an eclectic cocktail of new melodies and traditional tunes.

A are influenced by Celtic, Appalachian, Klezmer, African, Cuban, rock, and classical music.

"Be prepared for a fabulous array of instruments from contrabassoon to congas," said the girls.

"Exciting arrangements, great musicianship and infectious energy typify the performances."
