Hit the stage with one of the most fun, addictive and accessible games of the year.
It is similar to existing Rock Band and Guitar Hero games, except you have Lego musicians and can customise appearances, vehicles and hang-out.
In some ways the Nintendo DS version is a one-trick pony -- all four instruments are controlled the same way, by pressing four buttons as colours pass a bar.
But those controls are well-placed on the console, and there are five skill levels from super-easy to expert which ensure the game caters for all abilities.
There are musical tricks to learn, fun career mode and wacky challenges, making up for a relatively small repertoire of 25 songs.
At least the songs are all crackers, catchy hits from several decades, from Kung Fu Fighting, The Final Countdown and Ghostbusters to So What?, Breakout and A-Punk.
Perfect for all ages from young children to experienced axe warriors, Lego Rock Band is certainly no support act.
