The Second World War is portrayed through the eyes of Winston Churchill's bodyguard Walter Thompson in this documentary series.
Thompson foiled several assassination attempts as he travelled with Churchill around the world visiting other leaders.
Historical footage illustrates narration by Robert Powell in this ITV boxset.
Thompson became Churchills's personal bodyguard in 1921, just after the First World War, finishing his 18 year role at the end of the Second World War.
The films are based on a biography containing the recollections of Thompson's wife -- one of Churchill's secretaries -- and a manuscript discovered in recent years by Thompson's great-niece.
