By this gripping 10th series of the US crime drama the detectives of New York's sex crimes team have gathered a lot of baggage.
The writers frequently draw on this as they put short-fused family man Elliot Stabler and crusading rape victim Olivia Benson through the wringer.
Meanwhile the cases themselves come up fresh -- surprising considering their have already been more than 200 episodes mostly focusing on rape and child abuse.
A procession of well-known guest stars helps, but it's the fast pace, twisting plots and topical, emotionally-charged themes that make this still one of the best US dramas.
