To Catherine and all your family. Just to say how sad it is to hear of Martin's passing away and my thoughts are with you at this time.
I am deeply saddened by Martin's sudden departure from us. Having known Martin "Pifco" since Aireville School days, especially during those golden years in our late teens, when our gang were the "cool dudes about town". I will always remember him of being so full of life back in those days of carefree youth in Skipton. Then eventually venturing off on the bus to far flung exotic places such as The Cow and Calf Disco in Ilkley and by our Lambretta's (or Brook Smith's Ford Thames van complete with deck chairs in the back) to the Golden Disc "all nighters" in Keighley, the Plebians in Halifax, the Birdtrap in Brierfield or even, heaven forbid, the Twisted Wheel in Manchester" - "thumbing it" back from there on a Sunday morning could be an interesting experience ! We were all full of "Soul" back then Phil Wharton, Mick Gough, Chris Smales, Nigel Parry, Phil O'Neill, myself and others, but more especially Martin. So Martin, may your Soul, where ever it is now, be as "Deep as you like and then some". Good bye my friend.
