STURGESS John Died suddenly at home in Long Preston, on January 8, 2021, aged 73. Brother to Peter, uncle to Chris and Emma, great-uncle to Alfie, Thomas and Maisy. A shocking and sad loss to his family and to the canoeing fraternity locally, nationally and abroad. Loved by the many paddlers, young and old whom he coached and set on their sporting careers. He also taught for many years at Giggleswick School. Funeral details to be announced. No flowers by request and donations to Yorkshire Slalom.
